The RRFB is often used in pedestrian improvement projects, safe routes to school initiatives, and streetscape projects. RRFBs are proven to improve vehicle yielding rates at crosswalks by over 90%

Here at Availed Technologies we have been immersed in solar and LED technology for over 20 years. Among the first devices we pioneered were pedestrian activated crosswalk warning lights which, ironically, is our primary focus today.

Our start in this space was long before the development of the Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon or RRFB which today has become the standard device used to improve uncontrolled marked crosswalks. During this time, much has improved with the core solar LED technology, and much has changed in the traffic industry with the increased focus on pedestrian mobility and safety.

As a road safety partner that is trusted across North America, we combine uncompromising quality standards with cutting-edge RRFB technology. Years of hands-on, in-the-field experience has taught us the importance of simplicity and robustness in a product’s design. By focusing on one application, RRFBs, we have developed a highly reliable, easy-to-install, and cost-effective product that is second to none.

We thrive on our philosophy of, “Do only a few things, and do them extremely well.” This method has served us well in our mission to produce the best RRFBs possible. In fact, our expertise in ultra-efficient electronics, particularly solar, LED, and low-power wireless has resulted in a product that will outperform others two-to-three times in size.

Today, we work closely with some of the best traffic control device distributors in the industry to serve traffic agencies from small towns to DOTs… and everything in between.
